1.Projected Realities
Oil painting, TouchDesigner, MadMapper, projection

Concept
Projected Realities is a series of four oil paintings brought into motion through mapped light. Each painting, Stained Glass, Bust, Candle, and Water Surface, is treated as both a finished object and a projection surface, so the still image and the moving image share a single physical plane.
The work sets a medium built on permanence against one built on time. The painted surface holds still while light animates across it, and the line between the two collapses into one perceived image.
Awarded at GradEx 2026. [Add the exact award name.]
Technical
Each painting was photographed and rebuilt as a mapped surface inside TouchDesigner, where per-painting animations were authored to move only where the painted forms allow.
The animations were projection mapped back onto the physical canvases with MadMapper, aligning projected light to painted edge and form. [Name the calibration problem you want to foreground, for example matching projector throw, brightness, and color to the pigment.]
[Add: projector model and resolution, the physical setup in the space, and how the four paintings were sequenced or run together.]
