Concept

What We Kept is a projection-mapped performance made for a choir, staged in a Belarusian Orthodox church hall in Toronto. It gathers around Kupalle, a folk midsummer holiday, and the ways a diaspora keeps a tradition alive far from where it began.

The piece treats projected light as a form of memory, layered onto a familiar space to make the absent present. [Expand on the personal and cultural stakes in your own words.]

Technical

Three TouchDesigner compositions, Soltntse, ToToTo, and Noche Noche, were built to run live alongside the choir and projection mapped onto the architecture of the hall.

[Add: how the three pieces were cued and sequenced, how the mapping followed the space, the projector setup, and how you ran it during the performance.]
